PASTOR: Jeremy Griffith

Hello, Our names are Jeremy & Julie Griffith. God has called our family to plant a new Independent Baptist Church. We are looking forward to meeting you personally and serving in Christ together.

Pastor Tom Walz led me to the Lord on April 15th, 1997 while attending a church service at the Hocking County Fairgrounds in Logan, Ohio. Ruth Walz led Julie to the Lord as a little girl in Greenfield, Ohio. Although Julie & I were happily married the same year I came to know the Lord, the Lord was not first in our life. God’s grace turned our hearts and we surrendered to live for Him soon after our 2nd child, Jenna, underwent & survived two heart surgeries. Shortly after becoming members of Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church, Julie & I began to help in the Youth Department. It was while visiting Camp Chautauqua in 2004, I felt a calling to be a pastor. My family moved to Hocking County to work, serve, & train under the Leadership of my father-in-law, Pastor Tom Walz, of Cornerstone Baptist Church. The Lord has allowed our time to successfully bring about a bus ministry, a yearly Vacation Bible School, a Wednesday night Keeper’s Club, and trips to Camp Chautauqua. I began praying for the Lord to move in our life. In November 2007, I felt a desire to plant a baby church. My prayer was answered when the Lord confirmed the call on our family to move to Washington Court House to start a new work. Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church, Pastor Dan Lamb, was our sending church. We now have 4 children, Jillian, Jenna, Jana & Jared.

Our vision is to see souls saved in the Washington Court House area, and to be a good steward of a soul-saving station. The church’s mission being to evangelize, edify & equip believers to reach the world.

Staff Members: Ben and Kayla Myers

Kayla and I are very excited about serving at ABC in the childrens ministry. I received Christ as my savior at eight years old during a revival service. At the age of fifteen, I surrendered to full -time ministry at church camp. Kayla accepted Christ as her savior when she was nine years old while at church camp. She also surrendered to full-time ministry at the age of fourteen. Kayla and I began dating in 2005 after meeting as Bible Baptist Church in Wilmington and were married in April of 2010. I served on staff at BBCW from 2006 to 2010 as an intern, property manager, and assistant pastor. While serving in Wilmington we worked in the bus ministry, college and career class, nursing home ministry, AWANA, vacation bible school and many other areas of the church. It is our desire to see children come to know Christ and grow spiritually strong at ABC.

Church Servants

The entire team of servants at Anchor Baptist Church is committed to serving God faithfully. These men and there wives all seek to perform their ministries in a manner which will honor and glorify our Lord Jesus Christ. While the responsibilities of each may vary, they all hold to the timeless and unchanging Word of God as a standard for serving the King of Kings.
